48 Hour Film Project is on!

Early registration is now open for the Little Rock leg of the 48 Hour Film Project, the worldwide competition in which teams write, shoot, edit and score a seven minute film in just 48 hours. Just to keep things honest, all films must include a prop, character and line of dialogue provided by the contest and must fit into a genre drawn from a hat.

This year, the 48HFP runs from August 17 - 19. Now through July 23, teams can register for the special early bird rate of $140. After that, regular registration is $160. Teams that register after August 7 will pay $175.

Seen above is "Calamari Sunset, Part IV," last year's Little Rock winner for Best Film. Keep an eye out for the required elements of a bird (real, stuffed or sculpture), the line "some people say it's unlucky," and the character J. Butler Bedford, Detective.
