If you're looking for an exhaustive, painstaking and hilarious record of the "Stuck on a Truck" contest, hosted at last weekend's Toad Suck Daze in Conway, well look no further. Over at the Oxford American's website, Hendrix professor and OA contributor Tyrone Jaeger offers an intensely detailed first-person accounting of the contest, in which several hale and hearty (some might say foolhardy) folks vied for a new Ford F150. The winner is the man or woman who manages to keep one hand on the truck the longest, in this case, damn near four days. They get a five-minute break every hour and a 15-minute break every six hours, but otherwise they must keep a hand or hands on that truck.
Judging from Jaeger's notes, things got pretty weird after a while.
Ronald 'Wants a Safe Vehicle for His Boys' Upson is off the Truck. He was last seen leaving Conway with his sons tied to hay bales in the bed of his El Camino."
