Organizers announced today that this year's third annual World Cheese Dip Championship will be held on October 20, 2012 on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock. Crude jokes about the Clinton Library looking like a mobile home aside, something tells us Bill's a man who has enjoyed a steaming bowl of Hillbilly Fondue in his day.

3rd Annual World Cheese Dip Championship to be held Saturday, October 20
This year’s cheese dip champions will be crowned at the Clinton Presidential Center
Little Rock — The 3rd annual World Cheese Dip Championship will be held on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Center on Saturday, October 20, 2012.
In the past two years, over 10,000 people have come together to celebrate the local phenomenon known as cheese dip by casting their votes to decide what is the best tasting recipe in the world. Teams are divided into Amateur and Professional divisions, and winners will be determined through a series of blind tastings as celebrities, politicians and food writers/critics, sample and then vote on what they think is the best tasting cheese dip. Festival attendees will also be able to vote to determine who will receive this year’s PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS.
Winners will receive cash prizes, as well as trophies created exclusively for the event by a local artist, and the overall Professional Division Champion wins a trip to New Orleans to participate in the 2013 New Orleans Roadfood Festival held in the historic French Quarter.
“The public response the last two years has been overwhelming and once again proves that Central Arkansas is the cheese dip epicenter” said Southern Cheese Dip Academy founder Nick Rogers. “Teams from as far as New York City and Vermont competed last year, and we expect other states to join us this year. The World Cheese Dip Championship has attracted national attention from food shows, chefs and magazines and has given positive exposure to cheese dip and Arkansas.” “Let’s not forget, the event benefits Harmony Health Clinic.”
Online registration is open to the general public at www.cheesedip.net for both Amateur and Professional Divisions of the World Cheese Dip Championship until October 10, 2012.
Advance tickets will go on sale in the coming months. Tickets will be available at the festival site the day of the event. Proceeds from the Championship will benefit Harmony Health Clinic, a Little Rock based non-profit medical clinic that provides free health care for the uninsured and underserved in Pulaski County.
