Gossip, the Portland-based trio lead by Arkansans Beth Ditto and Nathan Howdeshell (AKA Brace Paine), will release a new album, "A Joyful Noise," in May. It's the group's first since 2009's "Music for Men." I wrote about Gossip and Ditto in advance of that album back in 2009.
Mark Ronson and Xenomania, the production team behind scores of British hits, handle production.
Said Ditto about working with Ronson to NME:
"One of our most common bonds was that we both loved big voices, church voices. He loves country music, which is a big deal to me because, you know, in terms of things I love, country music is probably number one, then it’s punk and hip-hop."
