So you checked out a copy of "Twilight: New Moon" from the Central Arkansas Library System and it was so engrossing that you plum forgot to take it back and now you've racked up some fines.
Well, CALS is ready to make you a heck of a deal: from Dec. 5-11, you can return overdue books with nonperishable food items and the library will cancel your fines. You need to bring at least one item for each book, but come on, don't go all cheapskate on this.
One catch: this offer only applies to items you currently have out, and not that fine you've been dodging for the last two years on a book you've already returned.
The food collected will go to Arkansas Rice Depot's Food for Kids program. Requested items include ravioli, peanut butter, tuna, canned fruit, pudding cups, cereal, and granola bars.
