Anita Huffington, the sculptor from Winslow who shows nationally and whose work is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, was one of 500 special guests at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art's American Spirit gala Saturday night. One of Huffington's marble sculptures is included in the "Wonder World" portion of the exhibit apart from the main galleries, joining work by Richard Estes, Dan Flavin, John Baldessari, Nick Cave, Jamie Wyeth, Bo Bartlett, Mary McCleary, Karen LaMonte, Max Ferguson and others.

Huffington isn't the only Arkansan whose work has been collected by CBMAA. Robyn Horn, Pat Musick and George Dombek have sculpture outdoors, and there is a Carroll Cloar ("The Baptism of Charlie Mae," I'm thinking) tucked away, though not on exhibit, unless I missed it.

Architect Moshe Safdie, founder Alice Walton and museum director Don Bacigalupi also posed for a picture (photos courtesy Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art):
