It really has grown over the past couple of months. Hard to believe the seeds of this festival were planted back in June. Now with a sturdy list of sponsors, musical acts such as Tyrannosaurus Chicken and Kent Burnside and the New Generation, celebrity judges like Crescent Dragonwagon and Lawrence Hamilton and what should be a very interesting and varied selection of professional and amateur competitors who hope to take home that $500 prize, it's apparent that this is the right time for cornbread in Arkansas.
Which is why the Arkansas Times has a Natives Guide for you this week on cornbread — some of the best restaurant cornbread we've found. From Rogers to Pine Bluff to Prescott, we've covered the state.
Everyone has a recipe to share... do you have one? It's not too late to contribute your own. Ya want, you can check out a couple of my favorites. Cornbread's likely to be coming out of our ears by the time this is all over. Ah, what a lovely thing to have happen.
