The online "Home Plate Heroes" auction of paintings in the shape of — what else — home plate is a fund-raiser for the Jim Elder Good Sport Fund, and you can see some of them now in the window of the Thea Foundation, 401 Main St. The auction starts tomorrow, Oct. 13, at the Jim Elder Good Sport Fund website.

The online auction runs through Oct. 27, when there will be a reception and live auction of selected plates at Thea from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Persons registered for the auction will be eligible to win a print of Ray Winder Field by Laura Raborn, also available for purchase for $55 or $80 (signed).

The Good Sport Fund, named for the late KARN sportscaster (see home plate above), benefits a number of agencies, including the American Diabetes Summer Camp, the Miracle League of Arkansas, Positive Attitude Reaches Kids, the Centers for Youth and Families and more.
