The Big Dam Bridge 100 is happening this weekend. Billed as the state's biggest cycling tour, it gets rolling tomorrow morning at La Harpe Boulevard under the Broadway Bridge.
To welcome the exhausted, spandex-clad warriors at the finish line, The Argenta Arts Foundation is hosting Finale Fest. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Main Street will be closed to auto traffic between Fifth Street and Broadway, and there will be vendors, live music, gallery walks and food from the downtown restaurants.
If all that gear-gnashing and Ben-Hur-ian clashing puts you in the mood for some theatrical entertainment, Argenta Community Theater hosts "First Farewell" at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Written by local playwright Judy Goss, it is the story of Sarah Bernhardt's visit to Arkansas at the height of her popularity in the late 1800's.
