"Kaleidoscope, Remembering the Past" is the name of Charly Palmer's stained glass window series of paintings at Hearne Fine Art, 1001 Wright Ave. Palmer will be at the 2nd Friday reception tonight (5-8 p.m.) and will give a gallery talk at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning at the gallery.
The Atlanta artist writes about why he's using a stained glass theme:
This body of work portrays the essence of how institutions, government and churches have misled the people. The images cross all color lines. I believe people suffer from the effects of persecution, racism, economics and mis-education. The thought of fragmented or perhaps fractured images goes beyond simply the people, but the idea of controlled information.
