At noon today, the Clinton Presidential Center will premiere several videos featuring Arkansas' Rock 'n' Roll Highway 67, the stretch of blacktop that went from Newport to Pocahantas and was dotted with clubs, most now long gone, that hosted Jerry Lee Lewis
, Elvis Presley
, Johnny Cash
, Sonny Burgess
, Conway Twitty
and many others during the heyday of rockabilly.
After the videos, a panel featuring musicians Sonny Burgess, Kern Kennedy, Bobby Crafford, Fred Douglas, Jim Aldridge and Ace Cannon will recount tales of hitting the highway to play with the budding luminaries of rock 'n' roll.
