The Thea Foundation dreams big, that we can help children find life-changing personal and academic success through the arts. But Thea doesn't just dream, and it doesn't dream alone: The kids of Baring Cross in North Little Rock will make real the foundation's dream when Thea holds its Big Dream Arts Initiative festival tomorrow at 18th and Division Streets. There will be dancing, face painting, drama, the creation of a community mural and much more there, behind the Salvation Army Building.
To keep the arts ball rolling, Thea will then offer free classes for six Saturdays — June 18 and 25 and July 9, 16, 23 and 30 — in the visual, performing, film and culinary arts to children in kindergarten through sixth grade, also at the Salvation Army building. Classes will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Parental consent is required; forms will be available tomorrow at the festival and at the Thea Foundation, the Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or the Acts Church and Ministry.
Hurray for Thea!
