Arkansas-born actor Billy Bob Thornton's estranged daughter was convicted on Friday in Florida on a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a child.
Amanda Brumfield is the daughter of Thornton and his first wife Melissa Parish. An Orlando jury acquitted Brumfield of first degree murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of her friend's one year old daughter, but convicted her on the lesser charge.

Brumfield told police that while she was babysitting the girl, Olivia Garcia, in October 2008, the toddler hit her head after falling out of a playpen. Brumfield said she seemed fine, but didn't wake up after a nap. An autopsy later determined that the girl died from a 3-1/2 inch skull fracture that caused her brain to bleed and swell. When Brumfield was charged in June 2009, Thornton — via a written statement delivered to the media by his publicist — expressed his sadness for the baby's family, but reportedly hasn't been in contact with his daughter in years.
Brumfield will be sentenced in July.
