The event benefits the Heritage Poultry Conservancy… which I wrote about in the March/April issue of Arkansas Wild. It’s a great idea, having a stock of poultry that’s not in the line of fire if an epidemic were to happen.
This time around, Chef Jerry Traunfeld of Poppy restaurant in Seattle is the chef in charge. He’ s won the James Beard award for Best American Chef: Northwest and Hawaii and has a couple of cookbooks, The Herbfarm Cookbook and The Herbal Kitchen: Cooking with Fragrance and Flavor.
It’ll be an interesting event, complete with martinis made from the distilled spirits from Arkansas’ own Brandon’s.
