The Afterthought opens its doors to local up-and-comers with their weekly Acoustic Open Mic led by local musician Kat Hood, 8 p.m.

Acoustic duo Brian and Nick take to Cajun's Wharf, 5:30 p.m.

Americana and Red Dirt Country rule the night when Goose and Ryan Burton Band play Juanita's, 9 p.m.

Indie rockers The Young Maths share the Revolution stage with drum and bass duo Androids of Ex-Lovers in an increasingly rare local gig, 9 p.m., $5. (The two bands also repeat the bill the following night in Hot Springs, at Maxine's, with local songwriter Bryan Frazier breaking down genre-barriers to join Androids of Ex-Lovers on stage.)

Organist Ted Allen puts on a recital at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 8 p.m., free.

ACAC hosts progressive, conceptual classical string outfit Kirtan Choir (the Charlotte Moorman-inspired nudists formerly known as the C.J. Boyd Sexxxtet) and locals Devon Crenshaw and Jack Bruno, 9 p.m., $5.

Bluesman Big John Miller heads down to Saline County to host a karaoke night at Denton's Trotline, 9 p.m.
