Release on the jump.
Best-selling author David Sedaris will return to Little Rock on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at 7 p.m., at Pulaski Academy's Connor Performing Arts Center to close the Arkansas Literary Festival. The one-night-only event will benefit the Arkansas Literary Festival, and tickets will be on sale beginning December 1, 2010.
Sedaris is "the preeminent humorist of his generation," according to Entertainment Weekly. He will be reading from his many books as well as his new work, answering audience questions, and signing books after the presentation. Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk, Sedaris' latest, is currently the number one book on Amazon's comic literature and fiction list.
The Literary Festival hosted Sedaris' first visit to central Arkansas in October, 2009, when more than 1,300 people attended.
Beginning December 1, tickets for An Evening with David Sedaris may be purchased at any branch of the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), or by calling 918-3009. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.ArkansasLiteraryFestival.org or www.cals.org. Tickets for the floor level will be $50, and $40 for the balcony.
The eighth annual Arkansas Literary Festival, a mixture of sessions, workshops, panels, and special events, will be held April 7-13, 2011. Authors will be announced in February.
