(September 21, 2010 - North Little Rock, AR) The Mexican Restaurant Association (MERA) will hold its annual convention in North Little Rock at the Wyndham Riverfront, September 27- 29, 2010.
Monday, September 27, MERA will host a Customer Appreciation Reception at Dickey-Stephens Park from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. It will feature FREE food and entertainment provided by MERA as they kick-off their convention. FREE tickets are available at the North Little Rock Visitors Bureau offices at the Visitors Center in Burns Park.
The theme of the convention this year is, The Mexican Restaurant: Celebrating Mexico’s Independence and Revolution 200 Years of Independence — 100 Years of Revolution. Chefs and Tequila Maestros from across the United States and Mexico will present educational seminars and tastings throughout the convention. Attendees will attend a luncheon hosted by the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion’s Chefs Gilbert Alaquinez, Jack Dougherty and Jay Baker. They will also attend a dinner and tasting at Pulaski Technical College, sponsored by the Culinary Arts Department.
