"El Grito," "Freund" open today

Delilah Montoya's "Humane Borders Water Station," an archival digital photographic print mounted on aluminum, is one of the works by 33 Chicano artists in UALR's "El Grito (The Cry for Independence)" exhibit that opens today in Galleries I and II in the Fine Arts Center. The work addresses border issues in the context of Mexican independence. In Gallery III are the late Louis Freund's drawings of famous archeological sites in Mexico.

The exhibits are part of a citywide commemoration of Mexico's 200th anniversary of independence and 100th anniversary of the revolt of 1910.
