I went last year — it was held in the Oppenheimer Hall at the River Market, and it was packed. It was a good way to sample a lot of different cuisine in one place, and an introduction to a lot of places even I hadn't visited (yet at the time) like The Pantry and Boudreaux's. There's always a little something for everyone. The only hitch to last year's event was a shortage in servingware, but I think that directly relates to the fact that, as I mentioned, it was packed.
The seven day event August 15-21 allows people on both sides of the river to try out new restaurants at bargain prices with price fixe menus and other great specials. There's a nice selection of restaurants already on the list; I bet if you were a restaurant owner or manager and wanted to help support the cause, you could sneak on in, too. More information at the event website.
