You've gotta squint a little.
Not to pile on the guy
, but I came close to spewing my corn flakes across the table this morning when I read this bit in Eric Harrison's review of Simply Najiyya's
in today's Democrat-Gazette.
Opting for the $2-extra combo, we got the biggest surprise of the meal - three cornfritters the size and shape of Borg cubes (sorry, non-Star Trek fans, can’t come up with a better description). The fritters are somewhere at the upper end of the evolutionary ladder that will eventually lead to corn bread, deep-fried a dark brown outside, moist with plenty of corn kernels inside.
Really!? You can't come up with a better description than a Borg cube
to describe a corn fritter?
And I'm way more mystified after looking Borg cube up on the web. From Wikipedia
The only unifying principles in the design of a cube are its shape, a decentralized/generalized arrangement, a size of several thousand meters per edge, and a hosting of tens or hundreds of thousands of drones.
Also, I have no idea, after reading the review, if the food at Simply Najiyya's is any good.
