Soup Sunday, the annual fundraiser for Arkansas Advocates for Children
and Families, returns this Sunday for the 29th year
. You probably know the drill by now: Admission gets you access to soup, bread and dessert from more than 30 local restaurants and food providers. The full list of participants, including what soup they'll offer, is available here
. Lots of promise — crawfish bisque from Acadia
, chicken and hearts of palm soup from Bossa Nova
, lavender glazed carrot soup from Starving Artist
, Cajun white bean and collard green soup with andouille sausage from Ump's
, Tuscan white bean with bacon and lobster bisque from Za Za
The supping starts at 4 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. at the Embassy Suites at 11301 Financial Centre Parkway. Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 and $50 for VIP tickets, which afford access to a new VIP signature soup room, where Mark Abernathy will share samples and recipes and talk soup with Mary Twedt of KUAR's Arkansas Cooks. There'll also be free Diamond Bear Beer and wine and desserts in the VIP room, which is open 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
