Tuesday: Slobberbone, Glossary, ASO's River Rhapsody, more

UPDATE: Travis Hill writes to say that Ben Nichols is a late add to the WWT. It's Travis' birthday, too.

It's the return of Slobberbone. Sounds like a terrible horror movie, huh? Instead, it's the best worst-named band Texas ever birthed. The band entered the scene in 1992 with a sound front man Brent Best has always maintained is "rock, pure and simple." That's a bit misleading. In the decade before it splintered apart, the band released four albums that trade on heartbreak, hangovers and stylistic variety. An acoustic ballad, ornamented with fiddle and mandolin, here; a full-throated cowpunk'd rallying cry there. Expect a crowd that knows all the words on Tuesday, December 1 at White Water Tavern. The show starts at 10 p.m. 9 p.m. and also features Glossary and Micah from Two Car Garage. It's ten bones.

By the by, you can download Glossary lead singer Joey Kneiser's solo record, "All Night Bedroom Revival" for free here. Kevin Kerby wrote one of the songs.
Also, the ASO's Rockefeller Quartet presents selections by Beethoven, Hindemith and Ravel at the Clinton Center, 7 p.m., $28

And the Arkansas River Blues Society celebrates its Christmas Party at Juanita's, 8 p.m., $5.
