Charlaine Harris, the author of the massively popular Sookie Stackhouse novels that provide the inspiration for HBO's "True Blood," offers the Central Arkansas Library's Darragh Distinguished Lecture at UALR's University Theatre at 6:30 p.m., free. Bring your fangs.

It's a night of good time rock 'n' roll at Sticky Fingerz with Dallas' Jonathan Tyler and Northern Lights and Tulsa's the Effects, both of which seem to be steadily rising nationally, and former Getty lead singer Matt Joyce's new band Nevertrain, 9 p.m., $5.
