Thursday: Straylight Run, Woody Pines, 'Rocky Horror' more



Former members of Taking Back Sunday soldier on in Straylight Run, a Long Island-based emo-ish, indie-rock trio headlining at Revolution, with the Dangerous Summer and Mansions opening, 7 p.m., $12 adv., $15 d.o.s.

From Asheville, N.C., Woody Pines specializes in a cheeky brand of old-time at White Water Tavern, 10 p.m., $5.

Earlier, the Root Cafe, the local-foods cafe in development, and the Arkansas Earth Institute team to host a Fall Harvest Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bernice Garden on Main and 14th at the ASN and Village Commons on 15th and Main. There'll be live music featuring the Woody Pines, contra dancing and homemade soups and hot apple cider. It's a zero-waste event — attendees are asked to bring a spoon and mugs. The cost is $10 per person or $25 for families.

The UALR Percussion Ensemble offers arrangements of Bela Fleck and Radiohead songs at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall, 7:30 p.m., $10.

Cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” begins a three-night stand at Market Street Cinema, with showings at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., $10 (which also gets you a “participation kit”).
