The band’s unveiling the horn section that’s such an integral part of the new album tonight with a free concert at the Levitt Shell in Memphis. Amy LaVere and Cedric Burnside and Lightnin’ Malcolm open. Damn.

Here’s what Brian Venable had to say about incorporating horns: “We were worried [the album] would be a little too jammy, so that gave us a direction. It gave us something to focus on. It became our soul record, our Memphis record.”

ALSO: There are three new fan-made videos on the band’s website, none of which are as good as that first muppet-ish one. There’s one that’s technically cool, but a bit boring where a tattoo book represents lyrics, one about a fat beer fairy and one that’s just kind of road/band montage.
