Last night at Comic Con, North Little Rock native Nate Powell won the closing award of the night, Best New Graphic Album. For the book above.

The other story of the night was a second straight year surprise win with Graphic Novel of the year. This year instead of Rutu Modan it was Nate Powell. Powell’s parents were there from Arkansas, and he was genuinely surpised and touched. It was a nice end to the evening.

Woo-ho! There’s no higher award in comics.
