fans in Arkansas have probably come to grips with the idea that Iceland's finest pop chanteuse will never play a show anywhere in the Natural State. But, if we'll never experience her elaborate stage show without driving a ways, here's the next best thing. Valley of the Vapors, in conjunction with the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, has scored an advance of the pop star's new tour film, "Voltaic,
" which will be released nationally on June 23.
Screening at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 at Hot Springs' Malco, the concert film collects footage from shows in Paris and Reykjavik and material mostly from Bjork's latest album, "Volta," as well as songs like "Hunter," "Joga" and "Army of Me." Her band featurees harpsichord, church organ and an all female Icelandic 10-piece brass section. It's bound, as all things Bjork typically are, to be visually dazzling, too.
Tickets are $5.
