Slow Food believers unite! The Second Annual Ozark Slow Food Potluck/Cooking Contest will be held Saturday, June 20th at the Brick House Kitchen Restaurant in Fayetteville. This year the competition is on for the best cocktail party recipes featuring locally grown ingredients. Ozark Slow Food Potluck/Cooking Contest

at the Brick House Kitchen in Fayetteville
( Fayetteville , AR …)The Second Annual Ozark Slow Food Potluck/Cooking Contest will be held Saturday, June 20th at the Brick House Kitchen Restaurant, 1079 S. School Ave. in Fayetteville (next door to the old bus station) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This year the search is on for the best Cocktail Party recipes featuring locally grown ingredients. Everyone is invited to share their favorite appetizer dish using some of the great local produce and products available this time of year! Competing in the contest is optional. Non-competitors can bring an appetizer or another potluck dish. For those who wish to enter the contest, each competing dish must contain a minimum of three local ingredients. Competitors must sign up at the registration table by 6:15 p.m. at which time judging will begin. David Lewis, Executive Chef and Lisa Jetter, Chef de Cuisine, both of the Brick House Kitchen, will judge the contest. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners; also a prize for Best Use of Local Ingredients. Brick House Kitchen will provide a cash bar.
Ozark Slow Food is a chapter of Slow Food USA, which now boasts 200 chapters nationwide. A grassroots movement that links the joy of food with a commitment to community and the environment seeks to regain the biodiversity of food that was once common. In summer emphasis is on the Farmer’s Markets and all that is fresh and local.
