Kris Allen to be named King of Arkansas

America, behold the power of Arkansas. Or evangelicals. Or maybe teen idol good looks.

Either, or probably all those, way(s), Kris Allen is in the top three of "American Idol." Because last night's results were delivered in random order, we don't know how close it was, but for Kris' sake — and his fans — he was the first to know he was safe. He almost passed out.

Now, he'll get a shot to upset the preordained final showdown between Tim Curry from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and Karaoke Gokey, but almost more excitingly, he gets a run of hometown concerts.

Here, according to Fox 16, is the schedule. It's subject to change apparently. I'll keep you posted.

9:00pm - Kris appears live on FOX16 News at Nine

11:30am - Kris performs live at Riverfest Amphitheater
3:00pm - Kris performs live at Donald W. Reynolds Performance Hall at UCA
5:00pm - Kris Allen parade in downtown Conway
5:30pm - Kris Allen performs live at Simon Park in Conway

UPDATE: Everything is free, but you'll need a ticket to get in the UCA show.

Details after the jump. Due to safety concerns, UCA has decided to issue tickets for the Kris Allen appearance at Reynolds Performance Hall that will take place on Friday, May 8, at 3 p.m.

Those tickets can be picked up in person starting at noon on Friday at the box office located at the front entrance of Reynolds Performance Hall.

Tickets will be issued on a first come, first serve basis; only one ticket will be issued per person; no group or block of tickets will be issued. Reserved seating will not be available.

Doors will open at 2:15 p.m. and Kris Allen's appearance will begin at 3 p.m.
