Whale Fire.

THURSDAY 4/9

At the Clinton School, Steve Hannah, CEO of the Onion, speaks, 6 p.m., free.

From LA and signed to Universal, Earshot plays a Tool-ish variety of alt-metal at Juanita's with Pall, 9 p.m., $10.

At Satellite, local guitar god and singer/songwriter Greg Spradlin keeps up his recent flurry of playing out, 9 p.m., free.

Here's a winning combination: all-you-can-eat crawfish, giant, incredibly cheap beer and a winning local bill, at On the Rocks. There the prog-y An Orangutan shares the stage with catchy indie-rockers Whale Fire, 9 p.m., $5.

And at White Water, Conway's Mat Mahar sings earnest folk songs to what's usually a pretty impressive following, 10 p.m., $5.
