Live last year at the Granada Theater in Dallas.

Susan Gibson, a Texas singer/songwriter most famous for penning "Wide Open Spaces," the Dixie Chicks biggest hit yet, plays Studio Joe tonight in advance at her appearance in Hot Springs at ">"Pickin' and Winnin'" this weekend. She's accompanied by fiddle player Marian Brackney, 8 p.m. (til 10 p.m.), $5.

At the ACAC, punk-rockers Blank Tapes (from Bloomington), Okay (formerly the C.U.N.T.S) and surf-rockers the Intestines share the bill, 9 p.m., $5. All ages. No BYOB.

Good-time jam-band Parachute Woman is at the Afterthought, 8 p.m., $5.
