Friday: Michael Burkes, Benjamin Del Shreve, Chris Denny, VOV, Breezy Osborne and more

Michael Burks.

Michael Burks didn't earn his nickname, “Iron Man,” from the comic. Rather, it springs from Burks' reputation for delivering intense, physical live sets and touring non-stop. The Camden native returns to Sticky Fingerz, 9 p.m., $10.

At the Valley of the Vapors Fest in Hot Springs, headliners Murder by Death bring a sweeping sound a la the Arcade Fire. With several well-regarded albums to their credit and a reputation for strong live shows, they should be worth catching. Haymarket Riot and the Bitter Tears open the show. Haymarket Riot plays loud, spastic, bass-heavy rock in the Fugazi mold. The Bitter Tears, a self-billed vaudevillian act that features horns and some country twang, may be one of the festival's most out-there groups. 8 p.m., $5.

Fayetteville's Benjamin Del Shreve specializes in swaggering, radio-ready rock. He's at Juanita's with Johnny Rocket, 10 p.m., $7.

Chris Denny has been a fixture on Little Rock stages lately, but that's soon to change. Next week, he hits the road with Graham Wilkinson until mid-April. Before he's gone, catch him and his band at White Water, 10 p.m., $5.

In theater, "Busytown," at the Children's Theater; "Little Shop of Horrors," at Murry's; and "The Foreigner," at the Rep, all continue. See our calendar for showtimes and prices

Kristin Jackson is a Playboy model turned DJ (DJ KayJay). DJ Max is a former Little Rock videographer turned Las Vegas DJ. Breezy Osborne is a former Little Rock celebrity (if such a thing exists) turned Las Vegas yoga instructor and girlfriend to DJ Max. Together, the three host “Girls Night Out” at Revolution, 9 p.m., $10 (for guys; girls get in for free).

Osceola's Finding Jimmy Hoffa celebrates the release of its latest Southern-grunge-filled album, “Southern Hospitality,” at the Village. Sufferkate and Sychosys open.

All the bluegrass gospel fans congregate for the annual Gaither Homecoming at Alltel Arena, 7 p.m., $21.25-$38.25.

Blues rock standout Shannon Boshears headlines at Zack's, 9 p.m.
