“Get Lit.erary,” at the Cox Creative Center, features music by Chris Denny, a sneak peek at the Arkansas Literary Festival lineup and a tour of the new Arkansas Studies Institute. Proceeds benefit the literary festival, 8 p.m., $50. 

Local rocker Shannon Boshears plays songs from her latest, “Black Mascara,” at Zack's, 9 p.m.

Northwest Arkansas roots rockers Charliehorse return to White Water, 9 p.m., $5.

Blue-eyed soul crooner Big John Miller brings his band to the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7.

Local rockers and sometimes cover band Make No Mistake plays Studio Joe, 8 p.m., $5.

Impressive vocalist Cody Belew teams with Hanky Panky at Off Center, 8:30 p.m., $4.

Satellite, as it plans to do, moves to DJs for the weekend with DJ Dirtbag, 9 p.m., free.

Local label Oblivion Records showcases its talent — Wishtribe, Third Degree, Hwy 5 — at Juanita's, 10 p.m., $7. The Ted Ludwig Jazz Trio returns to the Capital Bar, 8 p.m., free.

"Looking Over the President's Shoulder" continues at the Rep all weekend.

After a long hiatus, standout local pop-rockers Big Silver return to White Water Tavern, 9 p.m., $5, with the Good Fear's Zach Holland opening.

Pianist William Stuckey accompanies lounge singer Mary Kai at the Afterthought, 9 p.m., $7.

From Cincinnati, the Jon Justice Band plays blues rock at Cajun's, 9 p.m., $5.

Party band Tragikly White tries to put butts on the floor, 9:30 p.m., $5.

In the Ferneau party room, there's a watch party for “My First Home,” a TLC show that was shot in Hillcrest and Stifft Station; proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity, 8 p.m., $20.

The Ted Ludwig Jazz Trio returns to the Capital Bar, 8 p.m., free.
