FRIDAY 9/26

Earlier this morn, the two-day Worldfest started celebrating global diversity through food, music, dance, art, crafts, culture and education on the grounds of the Clinton Library, 9 a.m., free.

Also beginning this morning, the Great Arkansas Talent Search opens its semi-final rounds to the public at Riverfest Amphitheatre, 10 a.m., $10. It continues, same time, place and price, on Saturday.

Junior Kimbrough's son David Kimbrough Jr. plays an updated (somewhat R&B) version of his father's hypnotic North Mississippi blues at White Water, with the highly impressive Thomas Houston Jones and Blues Boy Jag, 9 p.m., $5.

The Disco Itch once again presents another installment of the dance party “Cool Shoes” at Downtown Music, 10 p.m., $5. The all-ages get-down features DJs like IKE, Carpenzo and g-force and a special appearance by Epiphany.

At “Pirates vs. Ninjas” at Revolution, superstar house DJs John Debo and John Bishop work the crowd, which is encouraged to dress as pirates, ninjas, geishas or wenches, into a froth, 8 p.m., $15.

SATURDAY 9/27

Popular, long standing alt-country act the Derailers comes to Sticky Fingerz, 9:30 p.m., $8.

At Revolution,'80s-themed cover act Venus Mission performs, 9 p.m.

From Alaska, the Whipsaws headline at White Water, with Jonathan Wilkins, 10 p.m., $5.
