MAGIC CROPDUSTERS BROWNINGHAM / THE REDS9 p.m., Sticky Fingerz. $4.
Update: Bummer, the ever elusive Cropdusters can't make the gig, so blue-eyed synth-soulman Browningham
is filling in with all new songs.
Tonight, in the latest installment of Thick Syrup's Monday night concert series at Sticky Fingerz, two of Little Rock's finest — the Reds
and the Magic Cropdusters
— are joined by a band that will likely only exist for two shows. Pete Jones and the Tiny Vibrations, a group comprised of members of the Moving Front and the Contingencies and featuring local stalwart Jones on lead vox, perform tonight just before Jones moves to New York, where he does web work for the Putomayo record label.
The Reds only played a few nights back (at the Musicians Showcase). Nonetheless, it's still a rare show for them. Ditto for the Magic Cropdusters, who released my second favorite album of last year.
This is one of those shows you forget that it's Monday for. Plus: cheap beer.
