FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
DIERKS BENTLEY GEARS UP FOR HIS
“THROTTLE WIDE OPEN” TOUR
Special Guests Luke Bryan and Bucky Covington Will Ignite Audiences In The Opening Slots
HOT SPRINGS, AR–– Country music star Dierks Bentley will shift his headlining tour into high gear when his Bud Light sponsored THROTTLE WIDE OPEN tour rolls into Hot Springs. The high-octane date will feature a marathon of unbridled live music by special guests Luke Bryan and Bucky Covington.
Known as the hardest working guy in country music, Bentley’s tour schedule has been at full tilt over the last four years. With the return of his arena headlining tour, he will spend the next four months focusing his attention on connecting with his fans in larger rooms.
“We aren’t at the level yet where we have the hi-def video screens or pyro or some crazy light show, so it’s just up to me and the guys in the band to go out there every night and connect with everyone in the audience…even the folks up in the nosebleeds,” explains Bentley. “If that means crowd surfing or pulling people up on the stage to dance, we’ll do whatever it takes.”
Music critics across the country are taking notice of Bentley’s high-energy set calling him “a consummate showman” and his 18 song set a “breathtaking barn-burner of an affair.”
Even before his first Capitol Records single, “All My Friends Say,” had been sent to country radio, Luke Bryan, was already receiving significant media attention, including being named one of Billboard’s new faces to watch in 2007. He was the only country music performer selected for the honor. Bryan was also included in Country Weekly’s “Who’s Hot In 2007” feature and the single was chosen as an iTunes “Discovery Download” of the week. Luke has since made his Grand Ole Opry debut in August and released his debut album, All My Friends Say, which landed at #2 on the Billboard Country Music Albums chart.
Bucky Covington's road to Nashville came down to convincing one person. He had impressed millions with his talent and charisma on "American Idol," making it to the final eight, but it was something else that sold him to Sawyer Brown frontman and producer Mark Miller. "There was a quality in his voice that was honest," says Miller. "I believed him when he sang." Miller approached Covington, and their collaboration has led the North Carolina singer to a deal on Lyric Street Records and a debut single, "A Different World," that is taking the Idol favorite to the country charts and airwaves.
