Justin Bank

Background: "A computer will help you get good grades, but a guitar will get you great groupies," Bank's uncle told him when he was 15. Over the 20 year career that's followed, the singer/songwriter has played in Little Rock bands like SFZ, Free Love Virgins and the Royal Electric. In Colorado, he played with a roots rock band called the Beauregards.

Albums: A 1996 solo album called "Beauregard," named for a nickname Bank's grandfather gave him as a child and comprised of songs Bank wrote will living in New York and France. Coming up, a new album, half acoustic and half electric to be released through Upperworks.

Sounds like: Alt-country-tinged singer/songwriter material. "Wry observations on love, usually with tongue planted firmly in cheek," Bank says.

Showcase accompaniment: Nick Devlin, the acclaimed local guitarist.
