I’ve been away for a bit, so please give me a bit of latitude with a few more pics about my recent vacation to the pacific coast of Canada.

My last post was all about my favorite food group- seafood!  But I’ll have you know I ate regular food as well and here are the pics.

Nah, just kidding.  Here’s the seafood.  I love it too much.

Steamed mussels and halibut from a cafe in the small village of Tofino.

Thats a fruit salsa on top of a fillet of grilled halibut, aspargus, and red onions.  The sweetness matched well with the spiciness of the fish.

Speaking of Halibut- How bout some (halibut) fish and chips from Port Alberni?  Right off the dock.

Or the Cod fish and chips from a diner in the Harbor city of Nanaimo?

Or find a hippie taco stand in the botanical gardens adjacent to the Pacific Rim National Park

They’re famous for their fish tacos seen below.  Thats another fruit salsa over a very spicy grilled salmon in a crunchy blue corn tortilla shell.  I’m not a huge fan of Fish Taco’s, but I gotta say these were pretty darn good.  Spicy and sweet, the fresh salmon really worked well with the other ingredients.

Thats all folks.  I promise to resume my Arkansas themed posting next.  Thanks for indulging me and please tell us of your culinary exploits next time you take a trip!
