I had an amazing fresh homemade salsa at a friend's house recently.
After a few weeks of pleading, she has relented and given up the recipe:12 plum tomatoes, chopped (of course fresh Arkansas tomatoes are the best and I used a variety of types and just started chopping until it looked like enough of a base to start with) 1/2 cup onion, chopped (I think I used 1/2 onion or so) 1 clove garlic, pressed or finely chopped 1 cup cilantro, chopped (I love cilantro so more is fine with me) 2 jalapeno peppers, chopped (or chile peppers instead) juice of a large lemon (squirting in the bottled kind is fine-just eyeball it) 1 Tbsp. olive oil 1/2 tsp. cumin powder (or more) salt and pepper to taste (about 3/4 tsp. salt) optional- red, yellow or orange bell peppers, (chopped), black beans, corn (roasted or canned) or anything you think might be good in it.
