Organizers for the Arkansas Jazz Fest
have pushed their event, originally scheduled for next Saturday, June 23, to Sunday, October 14. Sean Porch, of SDP Entertainment, tells me that the city of Little Rock, which along with the Times, is a co-sponsor of the event, told him last week that if the heat index happened to rise above 105, it would be forced to shut down the festival. Seems like a pretty fat chance, but organizers were understandably concerned and decided to play it safe.
Natalie Cole, Boney James nad Genine L. Perez will still headline in October.
