Dean Agus, who fronted Crash Meadows a few years back when it played around the region and performed in the Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase, had been out of pocket for a while. But he was back Thursday night with the Dean Agus Band, which includes his brother on lead guitar, at Sticky Fingerz in the Showcase, and his band's polished, electric show was the difference in topping three other bands in Round 4 of the Showcase.
The Dean Agus Band, based out of Hot Springs, joins Jeff Coleman and the Feeders, Cooper's Orbit, and Damn Bullets in the final, schedule for March 2 at the Revolution Music Room in the River Market district.
Agus' group edged out two bands who were separated by one point in a battle for second place: Fayetteville's The American Years and North Little Rock's Rein.
Conway's Daybreak Bandits, a fun band with a lot of energy, ruined any chance of winning by playing covers of Sublime and Led Zeppelin in the all-original music show.
