Getting Out: Monday

AmyB says there’s no slacking tonight for live music lovers:

Alt-roots and southern rockers Cracker will be at Juanita’s tonight along with the Elms. Their album “Kerosene Hat,” is apparently old hat to Lowery, (but still loved, we’re sure); the new album “Greenland” is a bit more introspective and ballad-like with a few of Lowery’s signature satirical yarns, according to a recent interview. As a side note, American Princes recorded “Less and Less” at his studio, and he’s currently working with Lucero. Tickets are $12, with Indiana based country band the Elms opening at 9 p.m.

At Vino’s, Orlando, Fla.-based Anberlin headlines a long night of alt-rock, along with Blackpool Light, Cute Is What We Aim For and Jonezetta. 8:30 p.m., all ages, $12. “Never Take Friendship Personal” is Anberlin’s latest album.

Monday Night Jazz at the Afterthought is featuring innovative tenor saxophonist Tim Aubuchon. He’s studied under saxophonist extraordinaire David Liebman and has an album out, “Bluz For Mo.” Admission is $10. Call 663-1136.
