Our lead-page feature story in the Times' Arts and Entertainment section focuses on the Arkansas Festival Ballet's ambition production of "Snow White," danced to the music of Edvard Grieg and directed by AFB's guest artist in residence, Mark Bush. Brian Williamson and Chris Stuart of the Nashville Ballet Co. will appear in key roles along with young local dancers Allison Stearns and Julia Aronson sharing the role of Snow White (Stearns on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., Aronson Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.).
It's being staged at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main St. It's the first local production of a full-length ballet in who knows when (certainly not I), and it's based on a production done a few years back by Ballet Austin, in which Bush danced as Prince Charming. The cast numbers over 50 dancers.
Tickets are $20. Call 227-5320. Saturday's evening performance will be preceded by a special cocktail reception, and separate tickets are available that that event as well.
