AmyB found a few minutes between all the fun happening around our office today and deduced what you've got to do tonight in terms of clubbing (and don't forget to listen to Amy on KABF-FM, 88.3, today from 3 to 5 p.m.). It's all there, your club to-do list for a Wednesday, after the jump:
It’s a little late for us to be getting this out: I’ve been hanging out at the River Market Pavilion for "Art All Day” and enjoying watching the little kids. Earlier, there was a drum and music circle manned by them, and they were just too damn cute to watch. They’re all are so weird, running around in circles saying exactly what’s on their mind.
The promoters for the event are supplying chalk for folks to draw in the area. Local artists are showing their stuff: paintings, pottery and such. It’s pretty fun and free, so check it out. It lasts until 6 p.m. today.
In terms of clubbing:
Rob and Tyndall are at Cajun’s tonight. Two of the best-educated musicians around, as in arpeggios and stuff:, they can do it up: folk, blues, rock, hippie. They’ve got it. $5 cover. 8 p.m.
Tell us about the boys from New York City: Back to Blonde at Sticky Fingerz tonight. 9 p.m. $5. Bryan Frazier will for him. He’s the local guy who the leader of Sao Paulo (good stuff, poppy, good songwriting and Thomas Dolby-style keyboards). He won something a month or two back, having to do with MTV.
The karaoke maestro (mistress?) Debbie T. is at Gusano’s tonight, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Check out the band Starless Allstars who, along with A Moment Later are opening for Brash. We don’t know what the crowd will be like, and we’ve yet to see them. We see they list Nickelback as an influence. Deep breath: open mind. Tell us about it. Literally, review it, please at Juanita’s. 9 p.m.. $5. Oh, we might add that apparently one draw to seeing Starless Allstars will be to see if KTHV weekend anchor Win Noble, a member of the group, shows up. Apparently, he's in trouble over there, though the station won't discuss it for personnel reasons. Something about some things outside the office, a nasty blog on myspace, etc.
What’s the deal with hardcore band names and their scat references? Downtown Records has yet another band with a regretable name but who we’re sure is great musically. We’d love a report ffrom tonight’s show of Relapse Records artist FaceDownInShit, appearing with Deadbird and Revelation Decay. The show starts at 9 p.m., $5 cover.
