It’s wacky today, Wednesday, April 20.
OK, here goes:
The freaky, clamorous, highly entertaining Captured! By Robots (one earthling 8 artificially created beings) show is tonight in Hot Springs, at the Exchange (100 Exchange St.) for $7, along with 9 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) with opening acts Attractive and Popular and the Strangeboys, who played last night at White Water.
That would basically be our show of choice if it wasn’t for the advent of MUTE MATH coming closer to home at Sticky Fingerz. There are quite a few of my very good-looking girlfriends planning on going to that show, fellows, but I’m sure you’ll be there for the music and Mute Math is for you smart-thinking Police/Radio/head/early U2 types. The album sounded up-tempo electric reggae in the songs “Progress” and “Peculiar People,” which were chock-full of warm, optimistic lyrics. Good positive vibe-type stuff. Bon Appetit! The Working Title opens at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $10.
Tonight at Vino’s Always The Runner, a mostly instrumental (but not boring, I promise) group from Batton Rouge. Appears tonight with American Tourist, India nd I’m told via email newish group Tin Fire Radio.

The show starts early, at 7 p.m. Admission for all ages is $7.
No music tonight at White Water. Maybe the band decided to stay home and cook shrimp: your truly waited in line for a good half-hour last night to get some shrimp, crab and oysters for the American commercial fisherman event behind Juanita’s. I spotted Green Party guys, Peter Miller, local musicians, writer, and some of us regular folk there: we were all about getting our shellfish on.
