The Game and Fish Commission says a $6,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction
The eagle was found March 28 near Tennessee Spur Road west of Monticello. The Little Rock Zoo staff determined the female eagle died of a gunshot wound. The dead bird was found near a nest, leading to the belief that the bird was tending the nest at time of death.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Game and Fish are investigating. Anyone with information may call the Stop Poaching Hotline at 800-482-9262.
