The Little Rock Police Department say that Joseph Jones, 77, was the victim of a homicide last night after being struck in the head.

The incident took place at 2017 Dennison Street. Police responded to a call that reported that Jones was attacked by his son, who struck him with a brick. Jones was transported to UAMS, where he died due to the injuries he sustained.

His son, Kendall Jones, 40, was at the scene when police arrived; he was eventually  charged with first degree murder and transported to the Pulaski County Jail.

This was the the city’s thirty-eighth homicide this year, according to police.
