Noted: A 10-year drop in violent crime nationally, but an increase in the last five years.

Crime in Arkansas has been on the increase for the past two decades. In 2017 in the Little Rock metro area, 87 people were murdered and there were 453 reported rapes.
While the official poverty rate in the U.S. was 12.3 percent, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, the poverty rate in Little Rock was well above that at 18.5 percent.
