KFSM reports that the Benton County Election Commission will recount votes today in two squeaky state House races where incumbents are currently on top by scant margins.

They’ll count ballots in District 90, where Republican Rep. Jana Della Rosa leads by three votes over Kendon Underwood and in District 91 where Republican Rep. Dan Douglas leads Scott Richardson by 12 votes.

Barring a change in these numbers, some outstanding federal and provisional ballots won’t change the outcome.  There are two federal absentee ballots outstanding in the District 91 race and they can be counted as late as June 1. There’s one provisional ballot in the District 90 race that could be counted Friday, depending on circumstances. Provisional ballots are allowed, for example, when a voter doesn’t produce a photo ID under the new law. The Election Commission has the discretion on counting such ballots where voters have signed affidavits to their legitimacy. Voters may also present valid ID by the Monday after an election.

UPDATE: Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports virtually no change in outcome after recount. Della Rosas margin grew to four votes.
