Over the last few weeks the value of Bitcoin — a cryptocurrency that is "mined" by a computer solving complex math problems
— has soared (and everyone's
were a moment
away from investing
in it and should
). If you're one of those people obsessing over a lost Bitcoin fortune, you might find solace in this regret calculator
But there are people with some basis for feeling deprived of Bitcoin fortunes: 1) the people hiring hypnotherapists to remember their forgotten Bitcoin passwords
and 2) Darren McFadden,
the former Razorback and pro football star from Little Rock.
In 2016, McFadden sued Little Rock-based investment adviser Michael Vick
for mishandling his funds (his first NFL contract was worth $60 million). That dispute is still ongoing in court. Among the lawsuit allegations recently unearthed: Vick said he'd spent $3 million on a Bitcoin venture when, in actuality, he "retain[ed] all the revenues generated or derived from the 'business' along with all the corresponding business assets purchased with Plaintiff's money."
According to lawyer Chase Carlson, if Vick had actually invested the $3 million in Bitcoin at the time, it'd now be worth $237 million.
